Overview

The development of the National Strategic Approach to Maternity Services (NSAMS) has commenced round 2 of consultation.

The consultation involves face to face workshops, an online survey and opportunity to submit written responses. In addition there will also be a series of webinars to enable greater access for those in rural and remote areas or those unable to attend face to face workshops.

The draft National Strategic Approach to Maternity Services is now available  and can be found at the bottom of this page.  The online survey is also now open for you to answer. It is recommended that you read the consultation paper before attending a consultation workshop, participating in a webinar or completing the online survey.

Dates and locations for the second round of  consultation workshops are listed below. Morning and afternoon webinars will be held on November 7, 8 & 9.

Why your views matter

There are a wide range of interested stakeholders and views on maternity services in Australia. Before finalising a NSAMS, we want to hear from interested stakeholders about whether the draft approach has incorporated all  aspects considered important to consumers, health professionals and the health system more broadly.
