2006 Nutrient Reference Values for Australia and New Zealand - A Review of Nutrient Reference Values for Fluoride, Iodine and Sodium - Online Consultation
Overview
The Department of Health in collaboration with the New Zealand Ministry of Health are undertaking a review of three nutrient reference values (fluoride, iodine and sodium) from the 2006 Nutrient Reference Values for Australia and New Zealand.
Nutrient Reference Values (NRVs) are a set of recommendations for nutritional intake based on currently available scientific knowledge, and set according to age, sex and life stages. Further information on the 2006 Nutrient Reference Values for Australia and New Zealand is available from the Nutrient Reference Values Website for Australia and New Zealand at https://www.nrv.gov.au
A methodological framework has been developed to guide the reviews of the NRVs. The application of the Framework is being tested by reviewing only some of the reference values for these three nutrients. A full review of all reference values for these nutrients will be considered in the future. A copy of the framework is available to download via the links below or from the website www.nrv.gov.au.
