People impacted by incontinence in Australia - Focus Group Registration

The Department of Health and Aged Care (the Department) has engaged Healthcare Management Advisors (HMA), in collaboration with the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI), to:

‘research incontinence in Australia and conduct an independent evaluation of Government funded continence initiatives.’

The Continence Policy and Research Project aims to help the Government set the policy direction for incontinence in Australia. It provides valuable data on the cost, demographics, and impacts of incontinence in Australia and undertakes an independent evaluation of the National Continence Program (NCP) and other Government-funded continence programs and services.

About the Focus Groups

The Continence Foundation of Australia receives funding from the Australian Government to deliver the activities through the National Continence Program. 

As part of the focus groups, you would be asked a series of questions around supports you may have received through the National Continence Program. 

HMA will conduct a series of three one-hour online focus groups (up to eight participants per focus group) to explore issues raised in relation to continence care in Australia.

Focus group participants will be will be reimbursed $50 for their time. At least one focus group will be conducted after business hours to accommodate for people who are working during the day.


The focus groups will run from early 2024 (Febuary, March, April)

What happens next?

HMA will go through a selection process to select focus group participants. If selected, you will recieve an email or phone call to organise your involvement in one of the focus groups.
