Better access – sharing pathology and diagnostic imaging reports to My Health Record by default

1. What do you think will be the impact of diagnostic imaging and pathology providers having to share reports to My Health Record by default? This includes the impact on:

Consumers and/or carers:
The impact could be information overload and potential fear mongering. The reason why i feel this is way is because , if results have not been discussed with a patient. . A patient may become distressed as unable to interrupt medical language. Furthermore clinicians may need additional support to keep up.
Healthcare providers:
Whlist this may give clinicians ease of access to information. The entire platform would be changed so that relevant reports are catergorised together for example - blood reports vs scan reports.
perhaps the terminology report might need rewording to a report library where the end user could filter the mentioned reports by date, time and provider/services.
The broader healthcare system:
This is great initiative to develop a current tool rather than reinventing the wheel. Perhaps the My Health Record needs further integration into notifying the patient's nominated GP when a report is available for interruption this would be helpful for Discharge Summaries and Diagnostic reports (Blood & Scan).

2. What does the government need to consider when developing requirements to share diagnostic imaging and pathology results to My Health Record? Particularly consider:
