1. What do you think will be the impact of diagnostic imaging and pathology providers having to share reports to My Health Record by default? This includes the impact on:

Consumers and/or carers:
-Provides more accessible information for a patient's usual care practitioner to be able to understand tests, results etc which will help inform decisions about the patient's healthcare journey.
Healthcare providers:
- Greater understanding of patient history and results to inform clinical decision making
The broader healthcare system:
- Further interconnected system enabling greater communication, reduced duplication of testing and enhanced quality of patient centred care

2. What does the government need to consider when developing requirements to share diagnostic imaging and pathology results to My Health Record? Particularly consider:

-Accessible and transferrable file types between providers and MHR
-Communcation to patients about where their health data will be stored

Faster access – removing delays to accessing pathology and diagnostic imaging reports in My Health Record

1. What do you think would be the impact of consumers having immediate access to diagnostic imaging and pathology reports in their My Health Record? This includes the impact on:

Consumers and/or carers:
-Building confidence in MHR and its ability to store health information in real time so that engaged consumers can use this information when speaking with their follow up healthcare provider.
Healthcare providers:
-Quick viewing of results to make informed clinical decision, particularly relevant when ruling out fractures or other immediate issues in an urgent care type scenario.
The broader healthcare system:
-Faster access to results may reduce the need for repeated tests , bringing down unnecessary costs and resources.

2. What resources should consumers have access to when they view a result in My Health Record? This question is about how to support consumers in a model of care where they have near real time access to their pathology and diagnostic imaging results.
