There needs to be a reporting of an organisations compliance to sterilisation standards for providers that provide services to people in residential or community care.

(AS/NZS4815) Office-based health care facilities - reprocessing of reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment, and maintenance of the associated environment.

(AS/NZA4185) Cleaning, disinfecting and sterilising reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment, and maintenance of associated environments in health care facilities.

Currently providers are not required to show proof of compliance with the sterilisation standards. It is common for sterilisation labs to be set up in practitioners homes.
