Prescribed List - Clarifying definitions under the current Grouping Scheme
Overview
We are clarifying and refining some definitions and descriptors for different categories of the Prescribed List (at the group, subgroup, and/or suffix level). This will be done under the current Grouping Scheme.
We commenced this activity in response to enquiries received from stakeholders. We will continue this activity progressively over the coming months, with sets of definitions updated at a time.
To ensure that the clarity objective is met, we will follow this process:
- We will publish a set of proposed amended definitions via Consultation Hub (this page) for comment
- Stakeholders will be given some time to review the proposed amended definitions and provide comment
- We will consider stakeholder comments and will seek further advice from the Expert Clinical Advisory Group (if required) before finalising the definitions
- We will update the Grouping Scheme definitions and descriptors, and publish them on the department's website
- We will repeat steps 1-4 until all definitions and descriptors that need to be updated are finalised.
Timeline
Set 1 - December to January 2024
- Open for comment until Friday 24 January 2024
- We will finalise definitions based on stakeholder comment in early 2025
- We will publish definitions on the department's website in early 2025.
Set 2
- We will publish set 2 of proposed amended definitions after we have finalised set 1.
