Closed 30 Nov 2021

Opened 1 Nov 2021

Overview

Contracted Service Providers (providers) are responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Australian Government Hearing Services Program (the program).

The Self Assessment Tool (SAT) is a compulsory, annual, online questionnaire for providers to check compliance with the contractual and legislative requirements of the program (refer to the Service Provider Contract (the contract), clause 16.8). This SAT will assist providers to:

  • check their compliance with the program changes implemented on 1 July 2021
  • check their readiness for the resumption of program requirements following the cessation of COVID-19 special arrangements on 31 December 2021, and
  • confirm they have reviewed the latest Compliance Update.

A summary report, compiled from de-identified data, will be published on the program website in early 2022.

Providers should be aware that references to the Hearing Services Administration Act 1997 (the Act) include the Hearing Services Program (Voucher) Instrument 2019 (the instrument) and the Schedule of Service Items and Fees (the schedule).

What happens next

The 2021 SAT process has now closed.

A report on the outcomes of the SAT will be published on the program website in early 2022.
