General practice data and electronic clinical decision support - Consultation Regulation Impact Statement

Closed 28 Feb 2023

Opened 28 Nov 2022

Overview

The Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care is releasing this Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (CRIS) to inform thinking around general practice data and electronic clinical decision support (eCDS). The two policy areas discussed in this CRIS have been combined given the overlap in stakeholders and links between general practice data and eCDS in the broader healthcare ecosystem.

The CRIS is the final stage in a two stage consultation process, expanding on the matters outlined in the initial Issues Paper released in November 2021, to lay out a range of potential regulatory options. The purpose of the CRIS is to seek broad stakeholder feedback on the scope of options, whether options are justified and what some of the potential costs and benefits are of each option.

The Department will collect and store personal information related to the submission in accordance with the Department’s Privacy Policy. Submissions will be made available to the public via the Consultation Hub. Please indicate if you would like all or part of your submission to remain in confidence.

Please find the CRIS document at the bottom of this page.
