Rural and Remote Nursing and Midwifery Education Survey
Overview
The Office of the National Rural Health Commissioner is committed to supporting workforce pipelines that provide localised health care to rural and remote communities. As such, we would like to work with you to gain a more fulsome understanding of rural and remote nursing and midwifery education. We want to establish what undergraduate and postgraduate programs are available to current and prospective Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives that support a career in rural and remote nursing and/or midwifery.
As part of this work, the Office has been mapping education programs and transition pathways that are available for current and future nurses wanting to gain formal qualifications at either an undergraduate or postgraduate level applicable to their preparation to work in rural and remote locations (defined by Modified Monash Model 3-7). The Office is now also undertaking a similar process to mapping education programs and transition pathways for current and future Midwives.
It is our aim to collate information about potential gaps and opportunities to support rural and remote nursing and midwifery pathways.
It is expected that this survey will take approximately 5 minutes.
