Closed 30 Apr 2024

Opened 13 Feb 2024

Overview

The Department of Health and Aged Care (the Department) has engaged Healthcare Management Advisors (HMA) in collaboration with the National Ageing Research Institute (NARI) to:

‘research incontinence in Australia and conduct an independent evaluation of Government funded continence initiatives.’

The Continence Policy and Research Project aims to help the Government set the policy direction for incontinence in Australia. It provides valuable data on the cost, demographics, and impacts of incontinence in Australia and undertakes an independent evaluation of the National Continence Program (NCP) and other Government-funded continence programs and services.

More information can be found in the Information Bulletin at the bottom of the page.

Why your views matter

This survey is an important step in the project, designed to gain feedback from people impacted by incontinence. Your feedback is highly valuable, and your input plays a crucial role in our understanding of your needs and how Government can better support continence management in Australia. This survey asks for basic information about you and your health. Here's why:

  • Diverse Representation: By gathering demographic details like your age and gender, we can ensure that the survey represents a diverse range of consumers. This helps us make informed decisions that benefit a wide variety of people.
  • Identifying Strengths and Weaknesses: Your perspective matters in evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of the NCP. Your feedback will help to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assessing the NCP’s impact on Quality of Life: We are interested in assessing the effects of the NCP on your quality of life. To do this, we need to understand your current health status.

Your participation is incredibly valuable, and we appreciate your time and honesty.

The survey will take approximately 25 minutes to complete. Your participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw without any consequences. All your responses will be kept strictly anonymous and confidential.

Phone support to complete the survey is available on (02) 5156 6665, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm AEST.
