Overview
An independent review of the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS) is underway. The review will look for complex or unnecessary processes within the NRAS. It aims to improve regulatory outcomes and keep Australians safe by providing high-quality health care.
Why your views matter
Consultation Paper 1 identifies the themes that have emerged, the associated issues and challenges, and the potential reform directions. The review process has involved consultation with stakeholders through written submissions and policy design forums.
What happens next
A round of targeted consultation will run from 12 May to 13 June 2025. The inputs from this targeted consultation will inform the final recommendations including proposed actions, timeframes and responsibilities. A final report will be delivered to Health Ministers in July 2025.
