Medical Research Future Fund Traumatic Brain Injury Mission - National Consultation on the refreshed Roadmap and Implementation Plan

Closes 10 Feb 2025

Opened 8 Jan 2025

Overview

The Medical Research Future Fund Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Mission is investing $50.0 million over 10 years from 2019-20 to support research designed to improve the lives of all Australians who experience TBI.

Our mission is to accelerate Australian TBI research that develops and delivers innovative and effective treatments that substantially and equitably optimise and improve outcomes for people who experience TBI, in partnership with people with TBI and carers.

An Expert Advisory Panel was appointed in April 2024 to provide the Minister for Health and Aged Care with advice on the strategic priorities for research investment through this mission by refreshing the Mission's Roadmap and Implementation Plan. The Mission's existing Roadmap and Implementation Plan was published in 2021.

The Mission’s Roadmap is a high level strategic document that includes the aim, vision, goal and priorities for investment for the Mission. To support the Roadmap, the Implementation Plan outlines the priorities for investment, evaluation approaches and measures, supporting activities, and collaborative opportunities.

The refreshed Roadmap and Implementation Plan will be used by the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care to design and implement Mission investments via Grant Opportunities promoted through GrantConnect.
