Evaluation of the Aged Care Quality Standards Focus Group Registration

Closed 13 Aug 2021

Opened 22 Jul 2021

Overview

On 1 March 2021 the Government announced that it would review and enhance the Aged Care Quality Standards in response to a recommendation made by the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. To inform this review, the department has engaged KPMG to undertake an evaluation of the current Quality Standards.

The evaluation will examine:

  • the clarity of the wording and intent of the Quality Standards
  • the relevance of the Quality Standards to each aged care service program
  • whether the Quality Standards are achievable and measurable
  • the impact of the Quality Standards on consumers, providers and other key stakeholders
  • contextual factors that have impacted the implementation of the Quality Standards.

As part of the evaluation, KPMG is conducting consultations with consumers, aged care providers, consumer representative organisations and peak bodies to understand:

  • how the Quality Standards have been implemented
  • the impact of the Quality Standards on consumers and aged care providers
  • opportunities for refinement and improvement.

If you are interested in participating in a focus group, please register. Registration will take less than five minutes to complete.

It is expected that different stakeholders will have different roles and perspectives about the implementation and success of the Quality Standards.
