Quick survey: More medicine ingredient information online

Closed 10 Oct 2019

Opened 5 Sep 2019

We are proposing to provide greater transparency to consumers by displaying more information on the TGA website about the ingredients present in medicines. Tell us what you think about this proposal.

Why We Are Consulting

People need access to information about the ingredients in their medicines. This helps us to make informed choices and avoid medicines that may not be suitable.

We propose to display the names of excipient (‘inactive’) ingredients present in goods on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods. By making this information available online, people can avoid specific ingredients because of allergies or personal preferences. It could also help to identify if an ingredient has contributed to an adverse reaction.
