National Health Genomics Policy Framework

Overview

Introduction

The Commonwealth Department of Health (the Department) is seeking feedback on the draft National Health Genomics Policy Framework (the Framework).

The Framework is a commitment between Commonwealth and states and territories to work collaboratively to integrate genomics into the health system over time.

How to provide input

1.  Provide written submission

A template is attached for you to download and complete. You may choose to respond to the specific questions and/or provide general feedback in the free text section. Please forward your submissions to genomics@health.gov.au

Please indicate whether the Department may publicly release the submitter's details and/or their submission. 

2. Complete the online survey

What happens next?

The draft Framework has been written as an outline which will be fleshed out in more detail to take into account feedback from the consultation process. The final Framework will be submitted to the Australian Health Ministers’ Council for endorsement mid-2017.

A de-identified summary of the key themes arising from the feedback may be made available on the Department’s website following completion of the Framework.
