Suggestions - are organisational statements and requirements achievable
I think they capture the 'holistic' care required and are easily relatable to vision. mission, policy statements of an organisation

12. Are the draft standards measurable?

No

Text box - suggestions are draft standards measurable
I think having Standard 2 separate is a good driver While it is relevant to Std 3-5, to embed these expectations in these standards, we would then be replicating the duplication that currently exists in the Residential Care Accreditation EO's 2.4-2.17. Standard 3 expectation 3.7 may need to be further explained. There has been de-skilling of the aged care workforce through the regulation present in ACFI and Accreditation, to the point that if it is not listed, then consideration to conditions outside of these regulated areas does not always occur. Having said that, listing every consideration is not realistic and does not develop the re-skilling of the workforce to consider the holistic picture of clinical care.

13. Are there any gaps in the draft standards? If so, what are they?

Please select one item
Yes
Ticked No
Text Box for gaps in draft standards
Captures all aspects of aged care services well. Not duplicating on other legislative requirements is time effective. Support for the industry in establishing risk management frameworks may be required, as not all providers/organisations have a strong understanding of these concepts.

14. Is the wording and the intent of the draft standards clear?

Please select one item
Yes, always
Ticked Yes, mostly
Yes, sometimes
No
Don't know
Text box for suggestions about how wording and intent could be improved
As previously discussed, further explanation may be required around 3.7 How continuous improvement is measured may also need further explanation. Not all existing providers are able to articulate their continuous improvement activities and feedback mechanism currently. Where common terminology from existing to new standards is used, education will be needed - evidenced with the misunderstanding of ACFI definitions when this was introduced over RCS with the concepts of behaviours.

15. Are any draft standards or requirements NOT relevant to the following services? If so, please provide details below.

Text box reason why stanard is not relevant
As outlined in consultation paper Stds 3-5 will not be relevant for some service providers, but based on the actual services provided, not the funding 'group' they fall under.
