15. What features of the existing assessment and monitoring process should be retained?

Retain assessment & monitoring processes
you can assess it and assess it but everything gets covered up and brushed under the carpet Fix the problems - more trained nurses , how can one nurse safely administer drugs to over 50 elderly , the public system has a ratio of 1:4 The elderly don't deserve this The nurse doesn't deserve this Dump the profit I once wanted my boss to order a dressing for a resident but was told this was far too expensive But they need it??? Also was told that each resident gets three pads a day NO MORE BUT WHAT IF THEY NEED MORE I had to leave after this It broke my heart This should never be a business nurses are trying to care... but the owner doesn't care they are there to make money

Additional comments

27. Do you have anything else that you would like to contribute to the Review?

Additional comments
Please put the elderly first The entire system must be transformed , we cannot continue to treat our elderly with such disrespect More nurses A ratio Carers who have little training provide little dignity and no understanding of the "why" they are doing what they are doing Nurses understand why patients need certain aspects of care. It's about knowing the rationale and being able to explain it.... carers are task orientated. Our elderly deserve better than this This is there home, they deserve to feel safe , cared for. They are just a number now a number lining someone's pockets I loved looking after the elderly but the practices expected of nurses are grossly unsafe . I want to care for them but it's just too risky for a registered nurse. Please put the elderly first , they deserve more than what they get.
